I qualified with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy and worked for 10 years at ST James’s University hospital in Leeds. Here I gained valuable experience in orthopaedics, Trauma, hands and plastics, outpatient clinics and in Rheumatology . Although specialising in Rheumatology, arthritis and chronic pain i then joined The Spire /Bupa hospital in Roundhay, Leeds gaining valuable experience in acute sports injuries and post orthopaedic surgery rehabilitation.
Since 2006 I have treated patients in my private practice, but continued alongside NHS work. During the last few years of covid I worked in GP practices as a First Contact Practitioner using my vast experience to triage patients and advise them on self management or refer on for further assessments or investigations. I hold post graduate qualifications in orthopaedic medicine and acupuncture and many specific sports medicine courses eg for golfers, runners, cyclists, racket sports.
I am also qualified in Workplace Ergonomics and have worked for major companies helping them focus on Health and Safety at Work.
